Casey: Is 2 months away from graduation! Horray! He's doing great and trying not to get burned out. He had 5 tests last week, ugh, and has a bunch of papers due soon, but he is such a trooper. I remember how hard it is to stay motivated your last semester. I think he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. We just have to pass. I say we because I edit and cite his papers for him. One of the benefits of having a writer for a wife.
Shelby: Is hilarious! Let me tell you something about our daughter, you cannot make her do anything. I know she's only 5 months old, but she is stubborn. For instance, if you put her in her crib to go to sleep and she doesn't want to sleep, she will cry FOREVER. If you are feeding her rice cereal and she just wants her bottle, she will not eat the cereal. It's pretty funny to me and Casey because you can tell when she's really upset and when she's asserting her agency.
New Things:
She is going through her consonants and says "da, da, da" all the time. We can't wait for her to look at Casey and say Da Da.
Tummy time does not exist. She can roll over so well now that you put her on her tummy and she immediately flips. From there she has no desire to roll to her side or her tummy.
She has begun emitting a high pitched cry/whine that is fake. It's sort of her crocodile cry. It really means "mom or dad pick me up." It's actually pretty funny--no we're not bad parents. There's a big difference in all her cries.
So there's a little update on the people who are not me.
